Concept

The main idea in this student project was to arrange the building in Z form, around a big courtyard for the house facing south and a smaller one for the studio facing north. The Mediterranean architectural tradition, according to which architectural design is energy design, was the key influence. Here, the south facing courtyard offers lightening and thermal benefits to the house, while the northern one provides the studio with uniform and tranquil lightening which assists the working process.
